The horizon was an orphic calico of rich carmine, vibrant orange tones. As dusk further encroached and the moon beagn to rear her head, warmer hues blended into a dull fuscia. Lucent flecks of stars blunged within the canvas, the sun left the land bathing in an ethereal afterglow that would prolong until sunrise.

"..There."

Luster's hushed tone carried through the silence, lifting their nose from it's previous position buried in Amaranthine's nape to gesture to the night sky. The darkness above was deep, consuming, she felt if tipping off the cliff would send her waning into the perpetual cosmos to stellify, as oppossed to certain demise at the hands of jagged unforgiving rocks.

"Mmm.."

Came Amaranthine's noncomital reply, she was beginning to drift before they had spoken up. Since Luster had shifted she opted to sag her head against their shoulder, angling her snout upwards.

"Right there, Cassiopeia."

Luster continued in reference to the summer constellation that lingered above, it's signature five points even more apparent now that they had pointed them out, forming a warped 'W'. Luster was pointing to the stars but Amaranthine only watched their face.

"Right..Cassiopeia...I hear Eden has no light pollution seeing as Elara's fire tower is the closest structure, we could gawk at the stars all night every night, in even better clarity." She mused, peeling her lips back into a strained yawn.

Luster huffed "Point Eden...Surprizing almost, the pack has been planning for quite some time." They paused, looking down at their paws in shallow ponder, "Fleur is still pretty upset that he has to leave his friends, can't blame em' though, he's lived human his entire life.." Amaranthine sighed, fully stirring as she sat up curling her tail around her hind, miscolored fur sticking up in all directions "Can't say I won't miss this place, grew up here, we all did. The cabin is nice, we had-have a solid community..But cities' no place for a wolf, as 'they' say." Luster nodded in silent agreement as she spoke, his gaze still transfixed on the constellations above. "Eden will be good for us nonetheless, we'll be with other rougarou, we won't have to hide. It's too dangerous here, since Sirius got busted it was only a matter of time." They motioned to sit up along side Amaranthine.

The moon was gradually reaching her apex, dousing the surrounding meadow in a silvery sheen. The soft ambience of crickets was natural, grounding. Luster bumped Amaranthine's shoulder playfully, turning to meet her eyes "Besides-We can really focus on our 'raison d'être'."

"Raison d'être..?" Amaranthine parroted sardonically, crinkling her snout in question.

"Raison d'être." They confirmed "'Reason for living; your purpose', it's french."

Amaranthine ducked her head and snickered silently, chest vibrating against Luster's flank.

"And where did you get that from.?"

"It came to me in a dream."

"That's just what you said when you have no idea what you're on about." She teased lightly, rolling her eyes. The intimate banter eventually died down into a comfortable silence, the two often found they didn't need words to occupy blank space, spending hours simply existing near each other. The stillness was fickle but never unwelcome.

"Luster?"

"Mm.."

"Eden is close to the coast, we'll have a beach just like here. Will you show me cassiopeia again."

"I'll show you everything."
